The East Regina Business Association was established over 10 years ago with a goal/purpose to create a forum where businesses in east Regina would have the ability to be kept informed of the development and economic progress in east Regina. This was a result of the dramatic changes as big box stores started to open their doors bringing with them tremendous change. Prior to this, commercial and residential development in east Regina was slow. 

Over the years and once development plateaued, ERBA’s focus shifted to include motivational sessions as well as information sessions including the City of Regina versus only east Regina. Regular updates on the commercial and residential activity in East Regina by City of Regina civil engineers as also been a major benefit. Most of all, ERBA has been very successful in delivering quality guest speakers and in providing interactive motivational and educational sessions for its members.  Many business relationships between members on professional, and personal levels, have been forged from the existence of ERBA.

As we look to the future and take into consideration the membership base, member engagement and those that have served on the executive, the continued viability of the association bears assessment. The challenge to recruit members for the executive positions, declining attendance at ERBA luncheons and events, and declining city development in East Regina has resulted in an assessment and review of ERBA’s ability continuing ability to secure quality speakers and provide ongoing networking and activity updates.

It is with a large amount of consideration that the Executive of ERBA has decided to move toward wind down of the East Regina Business Association by the end of 2011.  As this association concludes, the executive looks forward to seeing the members at various other events and functions around Regina.  We hope you continue to foster those relationships and continue the friendships ERBA has helped to create.

All lunches, special events and seminars will continue throughout 2011, with December being the last lunch that features a Christmas buffet and a chance for the members to socialize. Attached is a notice listing all future guest speakers, seminars and activities up to and including December.
